Why teachers look for another tool
Accounts and a student limit
Every ProgressMe student needs an account, and the Standard plan counts 10 students in online lessons. After the 7-day trial, neither teacher nor students can enter classes without a plan.
Stability in reviews
A teacher’s post on vc.ru in May 2026 describes blank screens and weeks of video problems; on 8 October 2026 ProgressMe itself warned that the platform may load slower than usual.
Built for languages
The dictionary, word trainer and catalogue centre on language teaching, mostly English. Teachers of other subjects bring their own content.
The two tools, side by side
Creating
ProgressMe gives you exercise templates for language work and a Generate button in each of them: AI can write a lesson or an exercise from a description or turn a scan into an exercise. In Gomently you describe the lesson in one message or attach a worksheet or textbook pages, and Gomently writes the whole lesson for any subject, following your worksheet exercise by exercise when you give one.
Teaching
Both run the lesson in their own room with video and a board. ProgressMe adds breakout rooms and servers for Russia and the CIS; its help centre lists Firefox and Opera as unsupported for calls. In Gomently you open any student’s screen as they work, take over to correct a step, or show one student’s work to the class.
Students
ProgressMe students are invited by email or get a login from the teacher, and their access depends on the teacher’s plan. Gomently students type their name into the class link from a laptop, tablet or phone and need nothing else.
After class
In ProgressMe students hand in homework and you comment on it in text or voice. After a Gomently class you get a report for each student, with what went well, the mistakes they made and how to fix them, and two or three homework exercises built from those mistakes. You review them and pass them on; students do not do homework inside Gomently yet.
Company and price
ProgressMe is run by ProgressMe LLC in Moscow and bills in roubles for Russia; Standard started at 990 ₽ a month for 10 students in online lessons when it was announced in August 2025. Gomently is run from Vienna, Austria, under the GDPR and is free for teachers during early access.

Questions
Gomently is free for teachers during early access. ProgressMe has a 7-day trial; its Standard plan started at 990 ₽ a month when announced in August 2025.
No. Students open the class link, type their name and join from a laptop, tablet or phone, with nothing to install.
They are often named together: the press described Edvibe as “ex. ProgressMe” in 2022, and both offer the same kind of plans. ProgressMe bills in roubles for Russia, Edvibe in US dollars.
There is no import. Attach the worksheet or textbook pages the lesson is based on, or paste its words and questions, and Gomently writes the lesson.
Yes. A lesson can be in any subject and any language, from maths and science to history, with pictures, exact diagrams and clock faces where they help.
