An Edvibe alternative, no student accounts

Edvibe is an all-in-one platform for language tutors and schools: lessons, homework, courses, schedule and payments. Gomently does less and keeps it simple: AI writes the lesson, students join with a link and no account, you follow each student’s work live, and after class you get a report and homework for each student.

Why teachers look for another tool

  • Every student needs an account

Edvibe’s help centre says a student must log in to start a joint lesson. Some teachers want students to join from a link with nothing to set up.

  • Connection problems in reviews

Reviews from 2025 and 2026 on irecommend and Trustpilot describe calls that take long to connect and slowdowns after updates.

  • Prices and plans that change

Reviewers in 2025 describe price rises and a new billing model. There is no free plan, only a 7-day trial.

The two tools, side by side

Creating

Edvibe gives you more than 30 exercise templates and, since 2025, AI that builds a lesson from a prompt or turns a photo of a page into an exercise. In Gomently you describe the lesson in one message or attach a worksheet or textbook pages, and Gomently writes the whole lesson, following your worksheet exercise by exercise when you give one. You change any part by asking in the chat or by picking it on the page.

Teaching

Both run the lesson in their own room with video and a board. Edvibe adds breakout rooms and keeps each student’s exercises in sync with yours. In Gomently you open any student’s screen as they work, take over to correct a step, or show one student’s work to the class. Gomently has no breakout rooms.

Students

Edvibe students have accounts, which lets them keep a dictionary, homework and course progress over time. Gomently students type their name into the class link and need nothing else; there are no student profiles that carry over between lessons.

After class

In Edvibe you assign homework exercise by exercise and see statistics and answer history. After a Gomently class you get a report for each student, with what went well, the mistakes they made and how to fix them, and two or three homework exercises built from those mistakes. You review them and pass them on; students do not do homework inside Gomently yet.

Company and data

Edvibe’s terms name Study Space, Inc. in Delaware and US law. Gomently is run from Vienna, Austria, under the GDPR, and schools can ask for a data processing agreement.

Price

Edvibe has a 7-day trial; Standard starts at US$14.90 a month and Pro at US$65 a month, less when paid yearly. Gomently is free for teachers during early access.

Which one fits you

Gomently fits if

  • you want students to join with a link and no account
  • you teach any subject, not only languages
  • you want a report and homework for each student written after every class
  • you want to start free

Edvibe fits if

  • you want lessons, homework, courses, schedule and payments in one system
  • you run a school that needs roles, balances, attendance or an API
  • your students record their voice or write answers
  • you use breakout rooms or a coursebook catalogue
  • you already have many lessons in Edvibe

Moving over

Your Edvibe lessons stay where they are. Bring the material, not the files.

  1. 1

Sign in to Gomently with an email link or Google.

  2. 2

Attach the worksheet or textbook pages you teach from, or describe the lesson. Gomently follows the material exercise by exercise.

  3. 3

Play it through as a student, change anything by asking, then send your students the class link.

Questions

  • Gomently is free for teachers during early access. Edvibe has a 7-day trial, then plans from US$14.90 a month (October 2026).

  • No. Students open the class link, type their name and join from a laptop, tablet or phone, with nothing to install.

  • There is no import. Attach the worksheet or textbook pages the lesson is based on, or paste its words and questions, and Gomently writes the lesson.

  • After each class Gomently writes two or three homework exercises for each student from their own mistakes. You review them and pass them on; students do not do homework inside Gomently yet.

  • No. Gomently has no payments, schedules across teachers or school administration. Edvibe offers these, some on its Pro plan.
